You not a beginning photographer. A basic photography class would be wasted on you. But you are not a pro either, you could use some more instruction. Then this class is for you. Taught by a professional commercial photographer.

A photographer is judged not on his diplomas or certificates, but on his portfolio. The objective of this 40-hour, ten week course is to build your portfolio. By the time this course is over, you will have a portfolio worth showing, whether to your own family or to a photo editor.

The ten sessions cover...

  1. Foundational instruction on exposure, f./stop and shutter-speed, how your camera works. Choosing focal lengths, what to pack in a camera bag and the 10 commandments of photography.
  2. Refresher course on black and white printing, composition.
  3. Lighting, natural and supplied,
  4. Studio lighting.
  5. Fashion Models, shot in the studio bays using professional lighting equipment supplied by the school.
  6. A field trip to somewhere...somewhere very photogenic.
  7. Instruction and use of Medium format equipment.
  8. Instruction and use of Large format equipment.
  9. Digital photography and image editing programs, such as Photoshop.
  10. Your portfolio.

This is a very much hand-on class. Bring your cameras, film or flash cards, people or objects you wish to shoot in the studio bays.

People like this class. Some so much they take it over and over again. One person has taken it eight times.
